The Director of Supply Chain Management will oversee and optimize all supply chain processes within the organization. This role includes strategic planning, operational management, and collaboration with various departments to ensure efficient and effective supply chain operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
  • Oversee the procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, production, and sales, to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, systems, and technologies within the supply chain function.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions and minimize operational impacts.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the supply chain team, including mentoring and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of proven experience in supply chain management, with a successful track record in leadership and strategic planning.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a talent for interpreting data and making data-driven decisions.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools, such as ERP systems, inventory management systems, and demand planning software.
  • Leadership qualities including – vision, integrity, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Should be coming from – agriculture, biotech, or construction background.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Inventory turnover ratio.
  • On-time delivery performance.
  • Supply chain cycle time and lead time.
  • Supplier performance and quality ratings.
  • Cost savings and cost avoidance measures.
  • Accuracy of demand forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Customer satisfaction ratings related to supply chain performance.
